It’s time to join Mat, Thrasher and BJ for the latest episode of Sequelcast.

Mat and special guest Jason Swank (RebelForce Radio) discuss the Star Wars and James Bond sagas. Afterwards, Mat, Thrasher, and BJ continue their look into the Star Wars sagas with a look at Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back in this episode of the Sequelcast podcast.

Burned out after directing Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, George Lucas passed the reigns of directing the sequel onto one of his former film professors, Irvin Kershner (RoboCop 2). George Lucas, Leigh Brackett, and Lawrence Kasdan penned a darker tale in which Luke Skywalker trains with a wee Jedi Master, Han Solo smooches Princess Leia in the bowels of a slug monster, and everyone is betrayed by Lando Calrissian. The lowest grossing of the “original trilogy,” Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back was still a successful film and remains a critical and fan favorite to this day.

Is the film too tonally different from the original? Why is Luke left by himself for long stretches of the story? Is Mark Hamill’s nose after plastic surgery an improvement?

SEQUELCAST is a podcast hosted by Mat and Thrasher that reviews movies in a franchise one flick at a time. Individual episodes are available to listen to from this website or you can subscribe to our RSS Feed.
