We're hearing rumblings in the Force that Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat has been linked to a future Star Wars movie.
It's currently unknown whether or not the film is a saga episode - if so then presumably Episode IX - or the third standalone project which has yet to have a writing team or director announced, or whether his involvement is as a writer, producer or director.
Famously, back in 2008, his fellow Doctor Who scribe Russell T Davies was offered a position on the disbanded Star Wars Underworld project - a role he refused, declining to even meet with Lucas - and we're reliably informed that Moffat's involvement has sprung from his collaboration with Steven Spielberg on the 2011 feature The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. Plenty of connective tissue between Lucas, Spielberg and Tintin producer Kathleen Kennedy.
As always, until official words filters down from Lucasfilm or Disney then this is just a wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey rumour.
