Our latest batch of Episode VII rumors have come across our desk here at Jedi News from our Jedi Master SQL source. Over to you SQL...
Over the past few weeks we have heard that a select number of executives from the leading Star Wars vendors have been invited to, and attended meetings at Pinewood Studios. They have had presentations on SOME elements of Episode VII, together with tours of a LIMITED number of Episode VII sets. Vendor meetings began on Friday 28th February, and continued into early March. The majority of the vendors invited are long standing trusted Lucasfilm vendors, or divisions within the Disney family.
This rumour fits in perfectly with what Steve Evans of Hasbro tweeted about his set visit to Pinewood over the past few weeks.
Further to the above a select number of leading movie industry writers and publications have also been to the set at the tail end and beginning of this week. In what would appear to be an unusual move for a J J Abrams’ movie, there appears to be a keenness to work with the media pro-actively to publicise the movie, and thus counter the desire for unwanted leaks – rather than the total secrecy enacted on other movies he has worked on.
Again these meetings appear to be confirmed by Empire Magazine Reviews Editor, Nick de Semlyen over the past 24 hours.
The majority of the media and vendor meetings have been with JJ Abrams and or Kathleen Kennedy themselves – emphasising what looks like finally some big announcements are imminent with vendors and the mainstream media prepped by those at the very top. It is same to assume that both JJ and Kathleen would have given interviews at these meetings which will be used by these publications in upcoming issues.
Finally, also on set over the past few weeks has been a number of actors and actresses whom we assume are cast, and or at least in late stages of negotiation. Costume fittings and training are starting…
All of this indicates that production we are almost ready to push the button and make the jump to production.
As always, we can only classify this information as purely rumor material at this point in time.
