Matt from MOSS247.com has got in touch about a campaign to get Dave Prowse recognised in his home town of Bristol. The campaign has already been given support by Bristolian comedian and TV presenter, Justin Lee Collins, a clip on ITV local news and support from Bristol's radio station GWR FM. Jedi News are very happy to get behind this and give it our support!
Bristol is Changing and the New Cabot Circus and Broadmead shopping complex will soon be complete. Something is required to link both parts Old and New and what better choice for Bristol than the most famous film Icon of all time "Darth Vader". More importantly what a way to pay honour to a man that is always in the public eye and achieves so much for a great number of charities including many that are local.
Dave Prowse MBE is a true Bristolian nobody can argue, whether you only know him as "Darth Vader" or the "Green Cross Code Man" or quite simply, got thrown out of the Glen by him, you cannot deny that his film and televison achievements plus his devotion to charity work should be recognised by his home city.
Morecambe has Eric Morecambe, Leicester Square has Charley Chaplin. Bristol should have Dave as VADER! This will not only be good for all in Bristol, it will be very good for the Whole of the UK.
