Will Star Wars: Rise of the Resitance Be The Most Ambitious Attraction Ever?

Forbes compares Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance to the Queen song Bohemian Rhapsody; in that Disney have ditched a three minute ride for a magnum opus! They look at the ride and ask if it could be the most ambitious attraction ride ever….

Let’s start with the queue. Concept art and reports from journalists who have seen it suggest that visitors will traverse a movie-perfect replica of the inside of a Star Destroyer-like ship. You know those corridors that Han and Leia ran through while peppering Stormtroopers with blaster beams? That’s what we’re talking about.

From there, guests will travel through a series of scenes where detailed sets, live actors, and all sorts of special effects wizardry conspire to make them feel like they really are in a galaxy far, far away. The highlight of this segment appears to be a massive room fronted by an enormous window looking out onto space, with an armada of ships visible in the distance. There will also reportedly be a phalanx of Stormtroopers present in the room—some robotic Audio-Animatronics, others actual human costume-clad actors.

If this was the entirety of the attraction, it’d be something big. But there’s still the actual moving ride part of the experience ahead.  And while this part is still largely under wraps, it should involve fleeing from the First Order and zooming by towering AT-AT walkers.
