REPORT: Weird Al Yankovic To Provide Voice Work In Star Wars Detours

We have yet to receive any official confirmation from Lucasfilm about it’s eventual return. In fact, outside of our initial report posted earlier this month, there hasn’t been much chatter about it at all. But now we get this tidbit of potential news from Examiner that Weird Al Yankovic will be joining the voice cast for Star Wars Detours.

He also has a role in the upcoming TV series “Star Wars: Detours,” which is supposed to be a comedic look at the characters of “Star Wars” during the rise of the Empire. The show has 39 episodes finished, but is being delayed by Lucasfilm until after the premiere of the new film “Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens.”

The article states Detours is expected to arrive sometime after Episode VII hits theaters, but we have heard differently via our linked story above and believe Detours will be part of the library of digital releases being planned by Lucasfilm for later this Spring.

As always, this is all rumor material at this point in time.
