Star Wars: Classified – A New Ongoing From Marvel To Launch In December

Newsarama have broken the news that a new ongoing from Marvel will launch in December.  Currently with the title of “Classified” – though we expect this to change.  The ongoing will see the return of Kieron Gillen to Star Wars comics, and Kev Walker on art.  The series will launch with two issues in December, and will be part of the Diamond Previews release tomorrow.

A new Star Wars ongoing title will be launched in December by Marvel Comics – to be solicited as Star Wars: Classified. This will go alongside the main Star Wars title and Star Wars: Poe Dameron as the line’s third ongoing series, replacing Darth Vader which is scheduled to conclude later this year with its #25 issue.

And writing Star Wars: Classified is Darth Vader‘s Kieron Gillen, joined by recent Uncanny Inhumans artist Kev Walker. Walker is primarily known for his Marvel work, but did one lone illustration – a cover – for Dark Horse’s Star Wars: Republic #55 back in 2003, featuring Obi-Wan and an army of clone troopers.

With a droids variant cover, and a “story thus far” cover, can we can expect a continutaion of the Vader storyline but focussing on Aphra?  It certainly makes sense with Vader #25 wrapping in November, and the Aphra #1 one-shot coming later that month.
