Saturday, May 4th 2019 – Free Comic Book Day

The stars and planets have aligned to bring us this monumental galactic event. Well, ok, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but we must tell you that tomorrow is not only May the 4th, but it also coincides with Free Comic Book Day!

Yes folks, it’s ‘Star Wars Day’ too and there’s a chance to pick up some fresh new content from your local comic book dealer.

In the US, there is a Star Wars offering from IDW Publishing. Star Wars Adventures FCBD 2019 is penned by the ever-popular Cavan Scott, accompanied by brilliant artwork from his partner in crime Derek Charm.

Alas, there are no Star Wars titles on offer here in the UK, but if you haven’t already, why not pick up one of the True Believers that have been published by Marvel Comics over the last 2 weeks. Or dare we say, try something different? Why not push the boat out and go for that comic that you’ve thought about reading, but never tried before?

We know some of the independent comic book stores struggle to support FCBD as the comics are free to you and me, but the retailer does have to pay a nominal fee for the comics. So please remember, if your local independent store asks for help towards covering that nominal fee for your comic tomorrow, please help them out and support them. This isn’t just about you get a free comic, it’s about creating interest in comics and the industry itself.

Please join in the fun and events and support your local comic book store.

Happy reading and ‘May the fourth be with you’!
