‘Inside the Star Wars Empire: A Memoir’ by Bill Kimberlin

Even by his own admission, his name is just one of the huge list in the credits at the end of a film. Not a name most people are aware of or know, so who is Bill Kimberlin and what has he done?

Working in visual effects, his film credits include Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Jumanji, Jurassic Park, Back to the Future II & III and The Abyss.

All of this work was over a 20 year period while working for ILM and Bill has recently sat down at his keyboard and written a book taking in his memories of an illustrious career in film making.

As he says in the short video above, he is the first former ILM employee to write a book about their time there. This should be a very interesting read, especially as it will tell the story from a different perspective.

The book is published by Lyons Press and is out now in hardback, ebook and audiobook formats.
