Blocks Issue 51: Star Wars, The LEGO Movie-verse and Readers’ Builds

Blocks magazine issue 51 is out now, here’s what you’ll find inside this packed issue….

Blocks magazine is back in the galaxy far, far away in Issue 51 with Star Wars, as well as taking a look at readers’ builds and The LEGO Movie-verse.

This month’s review section checks out a range of LEGO Star Wars sets, going from the Solo heist scene to the deserts of Tatooine. 75220 Sandcrawler gets a deep dive from the LEGO design team, who explain how they scaled down the iconic Jawa vehicle. Blocks also takes a trip to the Science Museum to check out a LEGO Star Wars build event.

With The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part just around the corner, Blocks magazine breaks down the latest trailer and takes a glance at the latest product images before counting down the top ten sets released in The LEGO Movie-verse.

The recent BRICKLIVE Birmingham event saw Blocks present a display of readers’ builds, so this month the creative LEGO fans share those same MOCs within the pages of the magazine. That is not the only build inspiration to be found, as Simon Pickard shares tips for constructing convincing cannons.

Steve Guinness begins his latest build project, a pirate theme park inspired by his LEGO MASTERS build. Ideas Showcase focused on an incredible playable piano build, while Month in MOCs visits a detailed castle, shows how to build a neat spaceship and highlights a beautiful Warcraft bust.

That is not all, as Blocks Photography demonstrates focus stacking, Family Tree looks at Urban Fantasy themes and Brickpicker asks the all-important question – has the LEGO investment bubble burst? To round things off this month, there is a great festive game to play – Brick Wife’s AFOL Xmas Bingo.
