More LEGO Star Wars Sets from The Rise of Skywalker Coming Soon

We may be a little biased but one of the best evergreen toys to buy this holiday season is LEGO. With a plethora of LEGO sets to choose from there really is something for every age group and gender. One of the best things about LEGO is its ability to reused over and over again. In a world full of disposable items the only thing stopping you building something new with LEGO is your imagination!

2019 was a big year for LEGO Star Wars which saw it celebrate its 20th anniversary with five special edition sets and three poly bags. “This year marks the 20th anniversary of our first partnership with Lucasfilm to bring the Star Wars galaxy to life, and together we have engaged millions of fans of all ages in exciting building opportunities,” Michael McNally, LEGO Senior Director, said in a statement. “As the final chapter of the Skywalker saga nears premiere, we are excited about what it inspires for new building adventures, and to help shepherd more new and familiar stories from a galaxy far, far away to brick form with the launch of our building sets.”

We are going to take a quick look at the sets available from LEGO for the most recent and upcoming Lucasfilm properties, and there’s a lot to choose from. The fifth episode of the Disney+ show The Mandalorian will air this week and a set from last weeks episode is available now featuring the AT-ST and the titular character as a minifigure. A Mandalorian battle pack will also be released in January 2020. However, we are somewhat surprised that no sets from the latest game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order exist or have been announced.

LEGO has already released a handful of sets inspired by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The 269-piece Resistance A-Wing Starfighter set features an opening cockpit, two spring-loaded shooters, and minifigures of Lieutenant Connix and Snap Wexley. The Kylo Ren’s Shuttle delivers rotating engines, foldable wings and spring-loaded shooters. This set comes with six minifigures including Kylo Ren. Featuring 1,351 pieces, the Millennium Falcon (#75257) comes with a hyperdrive unit with repair tools, smuggling containers, and minifigures including Chewbacca and Lando. Next month, January 2020, will see LEGO release another five sets from the film: –

  • Microfighters: Y-Wing (75263) – 86 pieces
  • Microfighters: Kylo Ren’s TIE Shuttle (75264)– 72 pieces
  • First Order Trooper Battle Pack (75266) – 105 pieces
  • The Mandalorian Battle Pack (75267)– 102 pieces
  • TIE Dagger (75272) – 470 pieces
  • Resistance X-wing (75273) – 761 pieces

What do you think of the new sets and which will you buy?
