Fordingbridge Film and TV Festival – LEGO BIG Build

Yesterday was a great day at the Fordingbride Film and TV Festival.  Our challenge was the LEGO BIG Build to complete two new LEGO models of the Star Wars Super Star Destroyer (#10221) and the Volkswagen Camper Van (#10220) both out later this year.  That’s almost 4,500 bricks to build in just 7 hours.

The good news is that we finished the Volkswagen Camper Van (it took Yoni almost seven hours straight to do this, albeit without the stickers) and we got two of the three numbered boxes done of the Super Star Destroyer (we finished it today after another couple of hours building – taking the total time spent to about nine and a half hours).  Click on the images for how the sets looked at the 5pm yesterday evening…

More pictures of both sets to come over the next week.

We also managed to raise over £50 each for Make A Wish and the National Autistic Society.  Thanks to all those that stopped by and watched and to those that helped out too.  It was a great day organised by good friend Dave Tree who worked his socks off to ensure all went well. We’ll definitely be back next year for more!

Finally, BIG thanks to LEGO for supplying the sets and we hope to do another LEGO BIG Build challenge later in the year (one which we might actually finish this time too)!
