Little is known about Respawn’s rumoured upcoming third person shooter set in the Star Wars galaxy, but the founder of the developer, Vince Zampella has now spoken a little about the creative process. In a wide-ranging interview he talks about visiting Bad Robot as The Force Awakens was being made, how EA initially didn’t jump at their idea, and how they have been working on the project for a year.

Our 45-minute chat with the industry legend covers his entire career, from his early days at GameTek to Medal of Honor to Call of Duty to the lawsuit and now to Respawn.

Respawn’s Star Wars game has yet to be officially announced, but they would become the first third party under EA’s license to publish a Star Wars game.

EA-owned studios Capital Games, Visceral Games, DICE, BioWare, and Motive are all thought to be currently working on Star Wars projects.
