In an interview piece he conducted with Christian Blauvelt posted over on Indie Wire, actor Werner Herzog revealed a key detail pertaining to the type of character he will be portraying in the upcoming Star Wars live-action TV series The Mandalorian. We learned that Herzog was officially part of this new series (set to debut exclusively on the Disney+ streaming service later this year) back in December when Lucasfilm announced the main cast members attached to the project.
Below is the question from Blauvelt that resulted on Herzog’s response about The Mandalorian:
I’m really intrigued by your acting career in recent vintage.
Yes, I did some more now. Now this is not a secret anymore, a small part, real small part, in “The Mandalorian,” the Star Wars sequel or whatever you call it. I like to do it because I know I’m good on screen, but only if I have to play a real villain.
Filming for the premiere season of The Mandalorian recently concluded and the series will have its own dedicated (and highly anticipated) panel next month at Star Wars Celebration Chicago 2019 on Sunday, April 14 which will be attended by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni.
Lucasfilm has not yet announced an official premiere date for the series. For more on The Mandalorian, visit the Related Articles section located at the bottom of this post.
