As was the case with The Force Awakens in 2015 and The Last Jedi in 2017, Vanity Fair has released an extensive featured story and two collectible magazine covers in anticipation of the theatrical debut of director J.J. Abrams’ The Rise of Skywalker this December. Featuring stunning images from legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz, fans will be able to purchase covers highlighting Rey and Kylo Ren. StarWars.com has also posted a story about Vanity Fair’s coverage. Check out images of the two covers below (click each image for a larger view).
The Vanity Fair cover story for The Force Awakens arrived in early May of 2015 while The Last Jedi was first spotlighted towards the end of May 2017. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy also shot a few behind-the-scenes photos of Episode VIII in conjunction with Vanity Fair as the film was being assembled.
A comprehensive roundup that we put together of all the Vanity Fair articles covering the lead-up to J.J. Abrams’ The Force Awakens can be found here while the same can be found for Rian Johnson’s The Last Jedi at this link. We’ll be sure to compile a Vanity Fair roundup post for The Rise of Skywalker as the Sequel Trilogy comes to a close, so be sure to keep an eye out for that post in the near future.
And while you’re at it, why not enjoy the Episode IX teaser trailer once again?
