The Oscars 2020: And the Winner is

Well, it wasn’t to be. After being nominated for 3 Oscars, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker missed out this year. But, it was a good night for 2 names associated with Star Wars.

Laura Dern won the Oscar for ‘Supporting Actress’ for her role in Marriage Story alongside Adam Driver. Driver was also nominated for the Lead Actor Oscar in the same film, but that prize was taken by Joaquin Phoenix in the Joker. ‘Adapted Screenplay’ went to Taika Waititi for Jojo Rabbit.

Another Star Wars nominee, was Star Wars: The Last Jedi director, Rian Johnson. Knives Out was nominated for the ‘Original Screenplay’ category, but the Oscar went to Parasite‘s, Bong Joon-ho & Jin Won Han
