Team Jedi News React to The Force Awakens Teaser Trailer

As fans around the world react to the The Force Awakens trailer here some of our own staffs reactions to our first teaser peak at Star Wars Episode VII.

Stephen G

“I felt the same anticipation I had back in November 1998 after the long gap between Jedi and Menace.

Disliked: There wasn’t enough of it!

Welcome back Star Wars, the Force has definitely Awakened”

Teresa Delgado

“I love the drama, the focus on new characters and the future of Star Wars. We got troopers, droids, dark side, a lightsaber, X-wings and the Falcon! It will do its job to get people excited! I love we saw 2 minorities and a female featured in the trailer. Well done JJ and i’m glad there were no original trilogy actors. Focus on the future!”

Dan Curto

“I think this teaser does the job it was meant to do: get people excited about Star Wars again. That said, there was a way too much time wasted with dramatic pauses, black screens…and no sign of the OT cast! Still, goosebumps when I saw the Falcon flying through the skies…!

I also REALLY like that we have NO idea what the story is about…that’s something I dislike about teasers/trailers these days…the whole plot is revealed way too soon.”

Matt Booker

“Loved it, a proper teaser. Didn’t give too much away. Nice shots of some of the new generation, x wings on water was the shot for me. Watched it at work with some mates as it dropped and then shared it again and again with customers as they came in to my comic shop, Loved seeing the reaction of kids who were very vocal as it played, very positive vibes… Only downer it’s a year away…”

Brian Cameron

“We saw the first glimpse of our as yet unidentified new heroes and villains, a glimpse into some classic and new environments and a hint at the quality we can expect in the CG effects of classic crafts such as the Falcon. Did it deliver? Absolutely!

It was a beautiful teaser which excited the internet, but retained the secrets of JJ’s Mystery Box… well played sir, well played. My one thought from the trailer is don’t be misled by a sleight of hand from Mr Abrams. Is everything shown as it truly is? Who is light, who is dark, is that truly a Sith (it seemed very svelte for Adam Driver) or have we just interpreted what we want to see…”

Mark Newbold

“It’s a slow starter but boy, does it pick up. Nothing spoiled from the story, no classic characters, a cute droid and our new heroes – awesome! Love the music, the Falcon (if it is the Falcon) looks hit as ever and that Lightsaber looks mean! I’m a happy bunny tonight!

Oh, and if the film is 2 hours 20 then we just saw 1 / 140th of the new Star Wars film!”

James Burns

“I literally jumped up when John Boyega appeared up on screen. I liked that the trailer focused on the new actors rather than any of the existing, although it would’ve been nice to see them for a second or two. It was great to see the Millennium Falcon (if it was the Falcon), hear the music of John Williams and see a lightsaber on screen. The trailer raises more questions, than it gives us in terms of answers, and it’s amazing to see a new live action Star Wars trailer for a new film that’s just over a year away!”

And last but not least our one brave member of the team who is trying to avoid all spoilers related to The Force Awakens, Justin LaSalata who has avoided viewing the trailer…
