The Digital Bits have heard from their retail sources that Lucasfilm has selected Tuesday, September 25 as the official release date for director Ron Howard’s Solo: A Star Wars Story on Blu-ray. A report from last month suggested the film could arrive on Blu-ray at the beginning of September, but this latest update pushes that time frame back to the end of the month instead.

We’ve shaken the trees and gotten some major new information from our industry and retail sources on a number of forthcoming 4K Ultra HD titles. Here’s what we’ve learned…

Paramount’s The Hunt for Red October, Patriot Games, Clear & Present Danger, The Sum of All Fears, and Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit will all street on 4K Ultra HD on 8/21.

Disney and Lucasfilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story is now set for release on Blu-ray and 4K on 9/25, per our retail sources.

Meanwhile, Disney and Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War looks to set for Blu-ray and 4K release on 8/14.

We continue to wait for an official announcement from Lucasfilm on the designated home media release date for the film. For more on the various Blu-ray editions of Solo that we’ve learned about so far, visit the Related Articles section located at the bottom of this post.
