Time flies, it was six years ago today that George Lucas signed an agreement to sell Lucasfilm to Disney for $4.05 Billion (the deal went through in December 2012). Six years on we’ve already had four feature films (The Force Awakens, Rogue One, The Last Jedi and Solo), two animated TV series (Rebels and Resistance), numerous comics and books (far too many to list), new VR content and so much more.
The future looks bright with confirmed projects coming in 2019 including Galaxy’s Edge coming to Disneyland and Walt Disney Word, Episode IX, The Mandalorian series, the return of The Clone Wars and more.
We’re glad that the studio has decided to slow down on cinematic releases, and with the current roster of content coming in 2019 alone, there’s plenty of content to take in and absorb. The future looks bright for Star Wars fans and we’re glad the franchise got a new lease of life with the Disney purchase — MTFBWY…. always!
