Rumour: Original Cuts Of The Original Trilogy To See A DVD Release?

It’s a cold, wet and exceptionally windy day in the UK, and so what better way to recover than to roll out a rumour that will not go away – the release of the unaltered, non-special edition cuts of A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi!

Today however the rumour comes from Jason Ward, over at Making Star Wars who has a very good rumour record.  He reports:

We will share the details of the re-release when they become more concrete on our end. At this time, we firmly believe the unaltered original edits of the 1977, 1980, and 1983 cuts of the original Star Wars Trilogy will officially be re-released soon. I do have to admit to being excited for Lapti Nek and Yub Nub jamming out on the screen again! I also can’t wait to show my kids the version I saw as a child and seeing what they think of the shifts and changes when they’re a little older.
