As expected by many, advance ticket sales for director Gareth Edwards’ Rogue One have exploded to a most impressive level since going on sale worldwide on Monday as reported via this article on The Hollywood Reporter:
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is already drumming up Death Star-sized business one day after going on sale.
MovieTickets.com says that the film led the site to the biggest presales day of 2016, and on the site, presales for the first Star Wars standalone sold 90 percent of blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens did on its first day.
Fandago also reported Monday was it’s highest presales day of the year, and its second highest presales day ever, behind Force Awakens.
These numbers place Rogue One right behind The Force Awakens in terms of record-setting ticket pre-sales and help boost the prediction that the film will have an opening weekend box office haul in the $130M+ range.
