When Lucasfilm made the official announcement last July that directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord would be helming the second Star Wars standalone film centering around a young Han Solo, a released date of May 25, 2018 was attached to the movie. Sources have reportedly told Making Star Wars that the release date has since been moved back several months to December 13, 2018 instead.

Of interesting note is that neither of the official Lucasfilm press releases announcing the casting of Donald Glover and Emilia Clarke in the film included the May 25 date. They only included the 2018 year but not the specific May 25 date so we’ll continue to monitor this story as it potentially develops.
