Interesting news from the House of Mouse(droid), Brenda Chapman, the original director of Disney/Pixars Brave has jumped ship and joined the newly rejuvenated team over at Lucasfilm, following in the footsteps of Kathleen Kennedy who took over as co-chairman a few weeks back.

Chapman has a strong pedigree, having worked on the stories for The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and directing The Prince of Egypt. She’s another strong acquisition by Lucasfilm, but what has she been brought in to work on? Maybe this quote from Lucasfilm Animation offers a clue.

In addition to continuing work on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and developing a second Star Wars animated series, the studio is also focusing efforts on feature film animation and other new intellectual properties.
