New ‘Star Wars Detours’ Trademark Applications Have Been Filed

Is the animated short series Star Wars Detours being primed for an official release by Lucasfilm? It would appear to look that way with several new trademark filings for the name having recently been submitted. Born from the minds of Robot Chicken creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, the series had nearly 40 episodes ready to go (with 30 of those episodes suitable for release). The latest rumor pegged the series being greenlit as part of a large digital content platform for a May 2015 release, but that obviously never happened.

Could these latest trademark filings indicate the animated series will be available on Disney’s new streaming service or their new Digital Network? The idea of having this series debut on the Disney Digital Network crossed our minds about a year ago.
