McGregor Talks About The Potential For Obi-Wan Spinoff Films

In a translated piece on Den Of Geek, originally posted in French on Premiere;  Ewan McGrgeor has spoken about the potential for Obi-Wan spin off films.

Whilst conceding that nobody has approached him about an Obi-Wan film, he told Premiere “I’ve always thought there was a story to tell between my last one and Alec Guinness’ first one” and it’s a story he’d be up for bringing to the screen.

“It would be fun to film that story now I’m older,” McEwan explained, “I’d be the right age. I’m forty-five, Alec Guinness was what, sixty? I could do two of them (laughs)!”

On the future of the franchise, he concluded “I hope that they’re going to explore different genres under the Star Wars banner. And one of those could be an Obi-Wan Kenobi feature film. Or two! The Obi-Wan Kenobi Story Part 1 and Part 2!”

It didn’t take much to nudge McGregor to talk Star Wars, a universe he clearly loves, says Premiere, though he does find it annoying that every time he’s asked about returning to the franchise “it seems as though I’m begging for work!”
