Luke’s Blue Lightsaber Sold At Auction For $450,000

Hollywood auction house Ripley’s Entertainment is now the proud owner of the lightsaber prop that was given to Luke Skywalker by Ben Kenobi in A New Hope. And what was the final winning price for this iconic piece of cinema history?

A cool $450,000.

We saw earlier a movie-built R2-D2 unit sell at auction for a pretty penny as well.

Once used by Anakin Skywalker before his tragic turn to the dark side, this blue bladed weapon of a Jedi was passed onto Luke and then replaced when Luke constructed his own green lightsaber as seen in Return of the Jedi.

If you recall, this blue lightsaber is no longer referred to as belonging to Anakin. The Lucasfilm marketing department now refers to this saber as being Rey’s.
