Director Rian Johnson recently held a press conference in Japan to promote the upcoming theatrical release of The Last Jedi. During the presser he stated that work on the film has almost finished with only a few more days needed to wrap up some remaining loose ends. He also goes on to reveal actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whom Johnson has worked with in the past, will be part of the cast of Episode VIII in that he will be providing the voice work for a new alien set to appear in the film.

Johnson also commented on last week’s hot button topic of Colin Trevorrow’s departure from Episode IX and the rumor/wish of him taking over the directorial seat for the final film in the Sequel Trilogy.
