Gina Carano Talks Her Debut in The Mandalorian, Significance of Cara Dune’s Tattoo

In an interview conducted with The Hollywood Reporter, actress Gina Carano spoke about her character Cara Dune making her debut in Chapter 4 of The Mandalorian live-action series on Disney+. She talks about her choreographed fight with Pedro Pascal’s titular Mando, working on set with director Bryce Dallas Howard (Carano initially thought she would be playing a female Wookiee in the series), her take on Baby Yoda, and more.

Oh, and about that small tattoo we see under Cara Dune’s left eye? Turns out there is a significant meaning behind it when Dune originally got it as a former member of the Rebel Shocktrooper class.

According to Carano, there is much more to Dune’s story, something the Rebel tattoo under her eye indicates.

“The eye tattoo has a much deeper meaning once we get into it,” Carano tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Obviously, it’s a Rebel tattoo, but there’s much more to that story. So, I’m excited for that.”
