Filming For Cassian Andor Disney+ Series To Begin Next Year

Lucasfilm announced yesterday during their dedicated Disney+ panel at D23 Expo that the currently-untitled Cassian Andor live-action spy series will begin shooting sometime next year in London. The live-action series (the second such announced series behind The Mandalorian), which will further explore the exploits of returning Rogue One stars Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk as Cassian Andor and companion droid K-2SO, respectively, is scheduled to be released on the new Disney+ streaming platform sometime in 2021.

A third live-action Star Wars series centered around Ewan McGregor back as Obi-Wan Kenobi was also officially announced yesterday at D23 Expo. No further details are available for that new series outside of the fact that it will take place in the official Star Wars timeline eight years after the events of Revenge of the Sith and that filming is set to begin in 2020 as well.
