Ewan McGregor was a guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week which naturally saw the conversation turn to the topic of the status of the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series. McGregor confirmed once again that the series is moving forward in development with filming slated to officially start rolling in January of next year. He also mentions how he has been watching The Mandalorian series as a prep tool for his new series, which could mean all sorts of things at this point.
The Kenobi series was initially scheduled to begin filming in July of this year, but the report of Disney placing the series on a temporary hold as they look to rework the scripts (and replace screenwriter Hossein Amini) has delayed the project’s go-time.
So while fans are eager to see McGregor back furthering the adventures of Obi-Wan Kenobi, they’re just gonna have to wait a bit longer to do so.
