Disney+ Has The Star Wars Films in 4K Resolution With Dolby Vision & Atmos

The wait is over. Christmas has officially come early this year. While we mentioned this news in a previous post about the famous Han/Greedo scene, it most certainly deserves its own dedicated story:

The Star Wars films are available in gorgeous remastered 4K resolution on Disney+.

Not only are the films available in this ultra HD resolution, they also support the Dolby Vision and Atmos formats as well, making these streaming releases a true gift to your eyes and ears. Previously, only The Last Jedi and Solo: A Star Wars Story were available in the 4K Ultra HD format, but now fans can enjoy the entire Star Wars saga in 4K glory.

An earlier report pegged a 4K boxed set of the Skywalker saga with a 2020 release to celebrate the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. With Disney+ being the new home for Star Wars, it will be interesting to see if this 4K boxed set is still set for release in 2020 or if the 4K remasters will be exclusive to the streaming service.
