Dave Filoni Directing One Episode From The Mandalorian Season 2

One piece of information that we wanted to highlight from Dave Filoni’s recent interview with Deadline pertains to his directorial duties on the second season of The Mandalorian. Filoni states in the Deadline interview that he directed (and wrote) one episode from Season 2 after directing two episodes (the premiere episode and Chapter 5 “The Gunslinger”) from Season 1.

Filoni did have a cameo in Chapter 6 “The Prisoner” along with fellow Season 1 episode directors Rick Famuyiwa and Deborah Chow.

Did you direct a couple of episodes for season 2 of Mandalorian like you did for season one?

I just did one episode this coming season. I’m really excited about it, I wrote it and directed it, so you know, that’ll be a fun thing for me, and I’ve been learning from Jon. He’s a great mentor. You know, to be in that situation in a live-action show with someone like him and a fantastic team of people, it’s a really fortunate place for me to land because you’re with people that can really help you and realize the things that you’re trying to do story-wise.

We learned earlier this week directors Robert Rodriguez and Peyton Reed helmed episodes from Season 2. The second season of The Mandalorian available exclusively on Disney+ is scheduled to debut sometime in October.
