Carl Weathers To Direct Episode From The Mandalorian Season 2, Filming For Second Season Underway

During today’s Disney+ press event promoting the debut of Jon Favreau’s upcoming Star Wars live-action series The Mandalorian, a few interesting pieces of information were revealed concerning Season 2. Nearly 30 minutes of footage pieced together from multiple episodes from Season 1 were shown to attendees at the event and the reactions to the footage were extremely positive. Dave Filoni announced that Carl Weathers, who portrays Greef Carga (featured above) in the live-action series, will be directing an episode from Season 2. Details on any other directors attached to Season 2 or information on future characters that will be making an appearance in the series were kept under wraps.

Last month we heard that Favreau was considering stepping behind the camera to direct an episode from Season 2, and it appears that will in fact be the case.

We also learned during the press event that filming for Season 2 is currently underway.

The premiere episode of The Mandalorian arrives on November 12, the same day Disney+ goes live here in the United States. The streaming release dates for all eight episodes that make up Season 1 can be found here.
