Billy Dee Williams Performs on Dancing with the Stars: Week One

Billy Dee Williams graced the Dancing with the Stars stage last night with all the charisma and sexiness we expect from Lando.

I was impressed with how much he loves Star Wars and how he embraced it for his first dance. I know he loves the saga since he has continued to do voices, make convention appearances and all that but it was nice to hear him talk about it. It was even more amazing to see him use it in his first dance.

I learned a lot about him for instance I didn’t realize he was 77 years old, or that he has had 2 hip replacements and also that he has arthritis in his back! Talk about challenging yourself. For this I commend him for being on the show. Emma Slater was a stand out last season and I love her as a dancer and I think she will get some very special stuff from him.

As far as his dance is concerned of course he was not the best dancer and yes he has room for improvement but he is a hell of an entertainer and he nailed it from that perspective. He got a 15 which was a pretty crummy score but to be fair he had the cha cha which requires a lot from the body. Luckily we will get to see him next week and he will be dancing the Tango which I think he will be good at. I personally think he will be a better ballroom dancer than Latin dancer.

As for the dance:

Stormtroopers, R2D2, the Lando blue shirt and cape, oh and yes Princess Leia! What more can you ask for. It was amazing and I am glad he did a Star Wars dance first. Grab your fans as quickly as possible you never know how long you will be on the show.

I can’t wait for next week. Remember folks don’t just watch it make sure you vote! He needs all your votes to continue and we want to keep him around as long as we can.

Tune in Mondays at 8/7c on ABC to catch one of your favorite Star Wars Scoundrels and Heroes!
