Alan Tudyk Cut From Rogue One…. Sort Of!

Courtesy of Star Wars News Net we have this fun story from the set of Rogue One.  Alan Tudyk recently took part in a Reddit AMA to promote his upcoming ConMan web TV show.

Tudyk revealed that a character based around the role of Wray Nerely from ConMan was created for Rogue One but subsequently cut from the movie:

I had a cameo I just found out got cut.” he said. Yeah, I guess it’s a cameo- Wray Nerely. So the character that I play in Con Man, sort of my alter ego in Con Man, had a role in Rouge One. I played a pilot, and the scene got cut. I just found out. Did Wray Nerely survive? I was really looking forward to seeing Wray Nerely in Star Wars, but truthfully Wray Nerely would never get that good of a job. So it was probably pretty good that he didn’t.”

It looks life after the cancellation of Firefly we are destined to never see Tudyk’s face behind the flight stick of a spacecraft.  We have to settle for his digital portrayal of Rogue One’s K-2SO to do the flying!
