The reason why millions of fans love the galaxy of Star Wars is hidden not only in epic battles and the diversity of this fantastic world. Many fans love to pay attention to characters’ relationships: to the cores of their friendship and feud, to their conflicts and developing of unions. But nothing attracts us more than watching the building of the strongest relationships of charming characters. So, instead of considering yourself one of the lonely European singles, check out the most significant couples from the legendary franchise. Notification: we’re going to walk through the whole universe including comic books, TV series, and others, so beware the spoilers ahead.
Mara Jade and Luke Skywalker
The cutest love stories rise from the story of a feud. This happened to Luke and Jade in Star Wars Legends. At first, Mara Jade fought for the Empire and was one of the closest warriors to the Emperor Palpatine. So how did these two managed to create one of the most beautiful couples? After the Emperor’s death, Mara had the last order to kill Skywalker. But after the meeting of her worst enemy many years later, she felt respect for Luke, and later she decided to fight on the Light side of the Force. This couple went through many challenges before they realized there’s affection between them.
Cienna Ree and Thane Kyrell
Here is another story of two different characters who were able to carry their love through the war and ideologic differences. These two appeared in a comic book “Lost Stars.” Thane and Cienna were closest friends since they were kids. They both were keen on space flights, and later the future love
birds studied together in the academy and served the Imperial Starfleet. Unfortunately, in adulthood, Thane changed his views, betrayed the Empire, and joined the Rebellion. But the feelings between these characters were too strong. They preserved their love despite a huge mismatch in ideology. Do you believe such relationships could be real in our world?
Leia Organa and Han Solo
What happened? Another unlikely couple on our list! Well, let’s be honest: opposites attract. Graceful Leia Organa doesn’t seem a good match for a cynical and restless smuggler like Solo. Sometimes, his actions look really toxic, and nothing makes us believe these characters can be together. Nevertheless, they create a perfect, iconic couple which still remains one of the most favorite among movie lovers.
Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala
This pair can hardly be called a happy one. Every Star Wars fan knows a tragic love story of a queen and a brave Jedi. The couple really had all prerequisites to living happily ever after, but the creators of the second and third episodes had another plan for the parents of Luke and Leia. Their story demonstrates how sometimes blind self-sacrifice can hurt both partners. Padmé loved Anakin too much and left the political ambitions for her beloved one. Until the very end, she couldn’t believe in Anakin’s betrayal, but no matter how seriously the Dark side captured him, we see his sorrow which only proves his feelings really were strong.
Obi-Wan Kenobi and Satine Kryze
Unlike Anakin and Padmé, Master Jedi Obi-Wan and the Duchess of Mandalore Satine put their duty above the romantic feelings. They first met when the Jedi was sent to Mandalore to protect the Duchess. The sparkle of love appeared between them very soon, but they both had too many responsibilities. That’s why Kenobi became one of the best Jedi, and Satine drove her planet to prosperity and peace. The most attentive fans can notice that Kenobi must have sympathized Anakin anyway and had mercy because the young disciple and his wife were able to sacrifice their duty to be together. This is what Obi-Wan and Satine could not do, and in the finale, the Master Jedi had to witness his love’s death.
