The Metro: Why San Diego Comic Con Could Be Big News For Star Wars Fans

I know you, our savvy and knowledgeable Star Wars audience, are fully aware of the significance of the annual San Diego Comic Con but the readers over at The Metro aren’t quite as clued up as you are. Here’s my latest piece, explaining why San Diego is so vital and looking at a few of the potential treats in striore for fans in attendence.

San Diego Comic Con is a big deal. A HUGE deal.
It’s acknowledged as THE premier event worldwide each year, bringing hundreds of thousands of fans, members of the film, gaming, television and comic communities to the west coast city every July and premiering teasers, trailers, clips, new projects and mega announcements.
For genre fans, this is the weekend where the next year – often longer – is mapped out, new franchises can be born and worldwide interest generated. The eyes of the entertainment world will be lasered in on San Diego for the next few days.
But why is this a big deal for Star Wars fans? What can they expect to see at SDCC 2015? And why is this potentially the biggest San Diego Comic Con for Star Wars fans since 1976, when The Star Wars was first revealed at the event, starting a relationship that would last through the original trilogy and beyond.
