Last night was the UK Media Premiere of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace 3D at the Empire in Leicester Square.  The 501st UK Garrison was out in Force to pose and protect the crowd of over 500 people – including Dave Tree, Chloe Stevens, Paul Bateman, Jonathan Wilkins, Matt Booker, Jamie Benning, Mark Newbold, the Hasbro Team (Martin, Henry and other), the LEGO team (Justin and others) and many more familiar faces including yours truly (sorry for not naming everybody individually). Click on each of the images for a closer look…

As you entered the cinema you had a chance to pose against a green screen with the fantastic double ended Darth Maul Hasbro lightsabers, as well as trying out Kinect Star Wars, posing with lifesize LEGO models of C-3PO and R2-D2 or grabbing a photograph (or two) with members of the 501st.

When it was time for the film to start, the film was first introduced by the head of 20th Century Fox in the UK, who also showed the new advert for the Star Wars Variety Club Pins and then welcomed C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels to the audience to say a few words.  It was then time for the film…

It was a great evening and it was the first opportunity to take two of my three children to see the film on the big screen for the very first time. Daniel (aged 12) and Yoni (aged 9) loved the film and asked to see it again as soon as the credits started to roll – this is the first time they’ll get to see the Star Wars films on the big screen am I looking forward to sharing that experience with them over and over again!

Thanks for 20th Century Fox, Lucasfilm and Substance for putting this on!
