‘Star Wars’ Celebration: 19 Years Ago Today

The very first Star Wars Celebration event started today 19 years ago today in Denver, Colorado to coincide with the imminent release of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. The Official Star Wars Fan Club was run by Dan Madsen who was based in Denver at the time, and this was one of the main reasons why this location was chosen for the venue for the event, which attracted 20,000 fans from all over the world.

Since then we’ve had eight Celebration events in the US, one in Japan and three in Europe….
