SDCC 2019: Recap of Hasbro Star Wars Panel

Following on the heels of the Star Wars Collector panel from earlier today, the Hasbro Star Wars panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 concluded a short time ago as the big Star Wars day at SDCC rolls on. Below is a recap of the new products that were announced during the panel along with a recap posted on Stay tuned for official high resolution press images of these new products from Hasbro’s public relations team at Litzky PR – we’ll be posting them as soon as we receive them.

Opening Segment

– highlighted their assortment of Star Wars SDCC exclusives
– the Boba Fett figure celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back will be highly detailed
– no details/info on October 4’s “Tripe Force Friday” merchandise event were revealed
– showed an image of a cool Sith Trooper army figure poster that will be handed out at their booth

Galaxy of Adventures

– 5″ scale animated versions of figures will be coming in this line (Darth Vader, Han Solo, C-3PO, and Chewbacca figures were shown)
– these animated figures will be highly articulated (24 POA) and have specific action features for enhanced play

The Retro Collection

– Hasbro said this line is performing well and more figures are planned.

The Black Series 6″

– will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back
– showed production of the Hasbro Fan Vote winner Luke Skywalker (Dagobah) figure from this past March
– showed design and construction photos of the impressive figure diorama they have on display at their SDCC booth
– a 6″ scale rancor was created specifically for their SDCC booth diorama figure display

The Black Series Roleplay Electronic Helmets

– Luke Skywalker (X-wing Pilot) helmet
– Boba Fett helmet (a prop helmet was scanned at the Lucasfilm archives to be as screen-accurate as possible).
– the Fett helmet features a functional range finder with display lights

HyperReal 8″

– Luke Skywalker (Bespin Fatigues) is coming to this new line to battle with the previously-revealed Darth Vader


– Hasbro will not have a figure diorama at Disney’s D23 Expo next month
– additional Legends figures are not completely out of the question, but there are currently no plans for more at this time
– Hasbro consults with Dave Filoni during the process of creating realistic figures from the Star Wars Rebels stable of characters
– sounds like additional modular playsets are in the works (no specific details shared)
– new Skiff Guard figures based on human characters are possible down the road
– there are currently no plans to produce new Star Wars Resistance figures
– they mentioned the difficulty in designing a TBS 6″ Rebels Zeb figure due to the larger size of the character
