MCM Birmingham Comic Con & Memorabilia: Latest Guests

There are only a handful of days until a staple of the UK convention calendar, the twice-yearly Memorabilia arrives at the NEC on 16th and 17th March.

Latest Guests for MCM Birmingham Comic Con & Memorabilia!

MCM Birmingham Comic Con and Memorabilia, Britain’s biggest collectors’ event, both come to the NEC this weekend. Our last round-up saw the likes of Gary Dourdan (CSI), Colin Baker (Doctor Who), Honor Blackman (James Bond) and Chris Rankin (Harry Potter) announced, and our line-up has be growing ever since. Here are some of our newest announcements:

  • Defiance star Jaime Murray. Jaime is also well known to sci-fi fans as Warehouse 13’s Helena ‘H.G.’ Wells, and also appeared as Lila West in Dexter, Gaia in Spartacus: Gods Of The Arena and Stacie Monroe in Hustle.
  • Defiance star Tony Curran. Tony’s other roles include Vincent Van Gogh in Doctor Who and Marcus in Underworld: Evolution. He has also appeared in del Toro’s Blade II, Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tintin and BBC series This Life, and voiced Captain MacMillan in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
  • Ian McNeice, whose credits include Doctor Who, Frank Herbert’s Dune & Children of Dune, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls, Valkyrie, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Doc Martin and A Life Less Ordinary.
  • Connor Jessup plays Ben Mason in Falling Skies, the sci-fi show created by Saving Private Ryan writer Robert Rodat and produced by Steven Spielberg.
  • David Atkins is best known for his role as Rob Edwards in Hollyoaks – other credits include Doctor Who, Shameless and The Street.
  • Dudley Sutton and Chris Jury are fondly remembered as Tinker and Eric in Lovejoy, but their careers go far beyond the show. Dudley’s appearances include Skins, Porridge and Cockneys vs Zombies, while Chris’ extensive directorial credits include Coronation Street, EastEnders and The Bill.
  • Julie Dawn Cole sprang into the limelight as the spoiled Veruca Salt in 1971’s Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. She has since appeared in TV shows such as Emmerdale, EastEnders, Holby City, Casualty and Poldark.
  • Adding to our already TARDIS-filling line-up of Doctor Who guests are Tony Osoba (Porridge, Space: 1999) Clare Clifford (Torchwood, This Life), Stuart Organ (Grange Hill, Brookside), Ozzie Yue (Father Ted, Coronation Street) & Stephanie Fayerman (The Inbetweeners, Casualty).
  • Top comic talent: artists and writers in our Comic Village will include Lee Townsend, Lee Bradley, Al Davison, Jenika Ioffreda, David Hill, Subversive Comics, YF Studio, T Publications and Aces Weekly.
  • Joining the iconic Samantha Fox in our Glamour Zone will be Monica Harris, Holly McGuire, Kyla Cole, Lucy Zara, Rebecca Shiner & Levi.
  • Football guests at Sports Memorabilia will include Brian Little, Alan Kennedy, Kenny Sansom, John Robertson, David Johnson, Brian Greenhoff, Larry Lloyd, John Gidman, Peter Withe and Shaun Teale.
