For the past 3 weeks, the LEGO store in Milton Keynes has been closed for it to undergo a refit. On Wednesday 3rd October, Team Jedi News were invited along to the pre-reopening event at the store to preview the new look store.
A long queue of invited guests snaked through the Intu shopping centre and a countdown to 7pm started with ten seconds to go. The countdown reached zero and the guests poured in through the doors eager to see the new look store.
The first thing I noticed was how bright the store is. Not just in the terms of lighting, but the colours. The store was well stocked with the latest releases and the most popular purchases were the UCS Y-Wing, Architect Las Vegas (Which both sold out on the night), James Bond DB-5 and Mr & Mrs Claus Brickheadz sets.
All the staff were really helpful and were willing to answer any question or assist by checking the store room should a guest not be able to find their chosen set.
Friend of Jedi News, Amor Lamine, who we helped launch his live build event back in July accompanied me on the trip. Although his exhibition has now closed, he managed to stock up on the next phase of his collection.
A good night was had by all who attended, who were each given a goodie bag to take home with them. Each goodie bag consisted of a mini-figure key ring, 3 mini-figure polybags, stickers, 2 mini-sets, catalogues and promotional material.
We would like to extend our thanks to everyone at LEGO in Billund and the LEGO UK PR for inviting and hosting us on the evening.
The Milton Keynes LEGO store is now open for business as usual from today, so please make sure you head over and check it out when you are next in the area.
