Fans of both Star Wars and Star Trek will know of Jay Stobie. Like myself, Jay writes in both galaxies, for the official Star Wars and Star Trek websites and using those connections, Jay has brought together a fantastic array of incentives for fans to donate towards GlobalGiving’s Hurricane Irma Relief Fund via the “Sci-Fi Fans For Hurricane Irma Relief” page that Jay has generously set up.

Read Jay’s statement below for all the information you need.

The science fiction/fantasy community is composed of kind, generous people who seek to improve the world around them and help others whenever possible.

Let us stand together with those in the path of #HurricaneIrma and contribute to GlobalGiving’s Hurricane Irma Relief Fund via the “Sci-Fi Fans For Hurricane Irma Relief” page (https://www.globalgiving.org/fundraisers/scifi-irma/) that I have set up.

As an added bonus, those who donate by utilizing the above link will have the opportunity to receive incentives (such as autographed items, personalized voicemail greetings, etc.) that are being contributed by Simon Pegg, Marina Sirtis, Robert Picardo, Joonas Suotamo, Armin Shimerman, Kristin Bauer, Alistair Petrie, John Billingsley, René Auberjonois (with his fan club ORACLE), Tim Russ, Kitty Swink, and a continuously expanding list of wonderful cast/crew/creatives who have worked on a variety of well-known sci-fi projects. Stay tuned for updates to this list and information on what incentives each celebrity has contributed.

The process is simple: donate via my GlobalGiving page, leave a comment or Tweet me @CaptStobie about your donation, and donors will be selected at random to receive one of the aforementioned incentives sometime after Hurricane Irma has passed.

Questions? Fans looking to help promote this fundraiser? Cast/crew/creatives who want to contribute an autographed item or other incentive? Feel free to contact me here on Facebook or on Twitter @CaptStobie.

Our community consists of actors, podcasters, writers, directors, producers, and fans from all walks of life. This is a personal endeavor on my part that is not affiliated with any companies or organizations. Numerous other individuals have helped along the way. I’d like to express my gratitude to Janice Chan, Harmony Carrigan, Carlos Miranda, Joseph Gatt, Laura Sirikul, Christine Rideout, Marguerite Krause, and the cast/crew/creatives (and their reps) who have been vital to this campaign.

It’s time for our global science fiction community to display its solidarity, but our primary goal must be to assist the people in Hurricane Irma’s path and those left in the storm’s wake.

Donate. Tweet. Share. Every little bit counts.

Thank you all.

And below is the tweet that Jay is referring to. Dig deep folks, real people in real need of help here.
