BBC’s Children in Need may have wrapped up for another year but there is still time to bid on Colin Furze’s custom Star Wars X-34 landspeeder as seen on the live show on Friday night, with all money raised going to the charity.
eBay have joined forces with Lucasfilm and BBC Children in Need to celebrate the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker by auctioning a Landspeeder inspired from Star Wars: A New Hope – built by YouTube inventor Colin Furze. All proceeds will go to BBC Children in Need.
This SoroSuub Corporation X-34 Landspeeder as used by Luke Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill) in Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope has been constructed using a Yamaha golf buggy chassis as the base. The interior/cockpit is of plywood construction, whilst the bodywork is steel sheet hand-formed over a fabricated steel frame. The windscreen is a custom polycarbonate dome cut to shape. Much effort has been expended to make the Landspeeder as accurate to the film as possible, and it is likely the only metal-construction version in the world.
Please Note: The Landspeeder is being sold as a static prop and will be decommissioned by having the propulsion systems removed or disabled before delivery for safety purposes. It cannot be altered or destroyed and needs to be kept in a dry place when not on display. The vehicle cannot be used for commercial purpose and will be available to the buyer for delivery from the 4th of May 2020.
Once the auction has ended, the winner will be contacted by email to discuss the terms of the sale. Bid now to own this epic piece of history!
