Unseen Star Wars Episode IV Blooper Reel Shown at SDCC

During a Friday panel session at SDCC, author J.W. Rinzler provided fans with footage of a never-before-seen blooper reel that had been compiled during the filming of Episode IV A New Hope.

“For years, Lucasfilm was unable to answer that question, or even confirm whether such a reel existed. Then its editor and author, J.W. Rinzler, uncovered the reel while trawling the archives for his ‘Making of’ series. Rinzler screened the result for a small audience at Comic-Con on Friday — the first time it had been seen in 36 years.”

The presenters who were running the panel made the audience members aware that recordings of the blooper reel were not allowed. If we’re lucky, maybe fans who could not attend the panel (or SDCC in general) will be treated to this content via a video posted on the official Star Wars site at some time in the very near future.

In the meantime, if you want to read a brief scene breakdown of the clips that were shown during the panel, point your browser here.
