Our good friend Derryl DePriest from Hasbro has reached out about this years Toy Designer of the Year which is put together by an industry group. The wonderfully talented Mark Boudreaux has been nominated. Mark has been working on the Star Wars brand at Hasbro for 38 years and is responsible for so much. This is what Derryl has to say about Mark, and we wholeheartedly agree…

If you have ever met Mark at Comic Con or Celebration, chatting with fans and admiring the work of the 501st, you know he is the most self-effacing, humble gentleman who takes pride in his craft and respects the heck out of fans…being one of the very biggest and truest himself. There is no one more deserving and this is truly a great honor for Mark, and for the generations he has made smile with his amazing design work (to design one generations-defining Millennium Falcon is enough, but three different equally amazing Millennium Falcons in different decades? Genius!). So…please vote for Mark, and spread the word! : )

And here’s Mark’s bio from the voting site…

Mark graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a B.S. in Industrial Design. In 1977, as a co-op, he started working at Kenner Toys and has developed Star Wars product at Hasbro for 38 years. Mark is a Senior Principal Product Designer in Boy’s Toys, and has worked on the six original Star Wars films, EPVII and The Clone Wars and Rebels animated TV series. Mark has designed all five of the 3-3/4” Millennium Falcons, including the new Force Awakens ‘Battle Action” version, and has action figures produced of his likeness. In February of 2015, Mark was inducted into the Toy Collector’s Hall of Fame.
