Po-Zu have announced that their new Han Solo inspired sneakers are available in EU size 39 (UK size 6 and US size 8). They also want us to meet the awesome Joelle (long time friend of Jedi News), who is a singer, writer, young person’s ambassador for Alopecia UK, and a keen Star Wars fan. They recently sat down with Joelle to talk about her work and love of all things Star Wars….
1) JOELLE, YOU SING LIVE EVERY WEEK ON SOCIAL MEDIA, HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING THIS AND DO YOU EVER GET NERVOUS?
I’ve been doing live shows on Facebook for about a year now. It’s such an amazing buzz singing live for thousands of people that you don’t really have a chance to be nervous…more excited as you never know who you’re going to be speaking with! It’s really great to get to know the viewers too and sing for people in multiple countries at the same time, I love interacting with people from all around the world. It’s like doing a Skype call with the whole world watching, it’s quite incredible really!
2) WHAT’S BEEN YOUR MOST POPULAR SOCIAL MEDIA LIVE SHOW, AND WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR MOST POPULAR COVER?
I did a show last week that had over 1/4 million people tune into the live stream. My most popular cover song is Cyndi Lauper’s True Colors which received over 2 million views within 48 hours, which completely took me by surprise!
3) DO SHARE YOUR PLANS FOR MUSICAL RECORDINGS IN 2018. WILL YOU BE WEARING PO-ZU SHOES IN YOUR NEW MUSIC VIDEO IN APRIL? 🙂
I have several new songs coming out in 2018. The first release has a music video that I directed, which was shot in LA. I have another song coming out that was written by Diane Warren who is the most successful female songwriter in history. You’ve most likely heard her songs anytime you’ve turned on the radio! While I was in LA Diane asked me to direct the music video for the release, so I’m planning the shoot at the moment and it’s being filmed in London. I’m inviting people to appear in the video who have been through tough times. If you’re interested in being in the video, reach out to me.
You might see me wearing my Po-Zu shoes in some of the outdoor shots 🙂
